Thank you to our members for your support in 2025 – 26. We have been working hard to grow our membership base, both to expand the reach of reconciliation in Tasmania and to support a wider range of Tasmanian workplaces to implement their existing reconciliation commitments.
Reconciliation in Tasmania is at a turning point. Across our 2025 and 2026 National Reconciliation Week breakfast series, something became unmistakably clear: there is a deep and genuine appetite in the Tasmanian community for a new understanding and approach to reconciliation, one that is honest about our history and informed by truth-telling from Tasmanian Aboriginal leaders and Community members.
That shift didn’t simply happen. It came from listening, from the guidance of Tasmanian Aboriginal Community leaders, and from organisations like yours showing up and taking action for meaningful change.
Exclusive access to our online member forums
One of the benefits of RT membership is exclusive access to our online member forum series: a space for deepening understanding, strengthening reconciliation commitments, and connecting with others undertaking this important work.
Over the past 12 months, our forums have brought together some remarkable voices including:
- Dewayne Everettsmith delivering a powerful and moving session on the importance of leaders understanding their own truths, and how that self-awareness shapes reconciliation in workplaces in practice.
- Caroline Spotswood, who manages Aboriginal Partnerships for the Department of Premier and Cabinet in the Tasmanian Government, brought a government perspective to the work, sharing insights on the commitment to Closing the Gap 2025-28.
- Rachel Dunn from Jenname Consultancy & Training presented on the Foundations of Cultural Safety, including how it differs from cultural awareness.
The forum featuring Rachel was the fourth in our 2025 – 26 series, and attracted 69 participants, reflecting the genuine interest in this kind of practical, applicable learning.
Each of the Member Forums has reflected the same principle: that reconciliation is strengthened when organisations have access to quality knowledge, diverse perspectives, and a community of peers committed to doing the work well.
