Your invitation to help shape the future of water in Tasmania
Every four years, TasWater prepare a detailed plan that outlines their services and the prices each of us pays for water and sewerage services. Their plan must strike the balance of price and service that is fair for all Tasmanians, both now and in the future.
As part of this, they are undertaking an engagement process to seek the views and preferences of their customers and community, to ensure that their views are reflected in the plan.
They’re inviting you to express your interest to join the Water Future Community Advisory Panel. The 45-member panel will consider this important question:
How do we prepare for tomorrow while being fair to customers today?
Over three months, the community panel will learn about the challenges TasWater is facing, consider a range of issues relating to pricing and services, and consider options for the future.
The panel’s work is important and we will use their recommendations to ensure that our customers and community are at the heart of shaping our next Price and Services Plan.
The Plan will be submitted to the Tasmanian Economic Regulator to set water and sewerage prices in Tasmania from 2026 onwards.
About the Panel
The community panel will be made up of 45 everyday Tasmanians from all walks of life and broadly representative of the population. The panel will meet seven times from October 2024 to February 2025.
Importantly, the panel is being recruited and facilitated by MosaicLab to ensure the process is transparent and independent of TasWater.
You need to be able to attend all the sessions. If you are selected to take part, you will receive $975 as a thank you for your time and feedback.
Session Dates and Times
You don’t need any prior knowledge to take part in the community panel. All you need to do is consider the information presented and share your opinions with TasWater and your fellow panellists.
