Voice to Parliament community conversation

The Federal Minister for Indigenous Australians, the Hon Linda Burney MP is be joined by local Indigenous leader, Nick Cameron, the Federal Member for Bass, Bridget Archer MP, and former Tasmanian Premier Peter Gutwein for a discussion on The Voice referendum, moderated by Professor Rufus Black, University of Tasmania Vice-Chancellor.
In 2017, the Uluru Statement from the Heart set out an agenda for Voice, Treaty and Truth agreed by national Indigenous leaders. In 2023, Australians will have the chance to vote to recognise the First People’s rights, history and ongoing relationship with the land, and to ensure they are consulted on laws and policies that affect them. Conversations are now being held with communities across Australia to learn more about this historic opportunity.
